Movement, Music and Art Class

Today the girls took a Movement, Music and Art class at the Tiny Tots Tea Room's Early Learning Center. I was a little apprehensive when I signed them up since the class was for 18month-6 year olds but the girls had a great time and the teacher was great. Miss Deb was very nice and the girls enjoyed all the fun things the class had to offer.

a little ball time

Fun in the tent.
I think the mat time when the parachute, tunnels, tents and ball pit was out was the girls favorite part.

Hey Ava, want to come in and play with me?

Wow Mom, look a train table!
and we all know how she loves train tables. This was a pretty fancy one too!

Umm, do I like arts & crafts or snack time better?
Snack time I guess won as she ate her fruit loop bracelet.
Bubbles!

With a little help from Grandma.

Hey mom, can you find me?
She ran back in here right when we had to go home.....guess she wanted one last time.

Gotta love the exit strategy...head first.
Plus, a big thank you to Grandma Kees for coming and helping me wrangle in the munchkins when needed. They did good keeping up and interacting with the bigger kids in the class. However, I think were a little distracted at times by all the new and fun things in the Early Learning Center. We often lost Isabelle as she preferred to wander off and explore the place than do circle time. She does march to her own tune at times...my little non-conformist. And Ava, my little ants in her pants girl, did actually quite well with the activities today since the class was great at moving from one thing to another.
So if anyone has little ones and has their Fridays open from 11:30-12:15, come join!!!

Backyard Project-Phase II

Remember this is where we started...
So over the course of about 2 full days, the contractor pulled all the tree roots (some of them were at least 6 feet by 6 feet), created a gradual slope down to the 2nd level and leveled the 2nd level. It ended up clearing over 50 ft of extra space for us. It looks great but poor Dave for having to mow all that now :)
The contractor was amazing. So nice, honest (which is rare) and very cost effective. Other companies wanted to bring in 10-20 dump trucks of fill. Instead this company's plan equated to no fill need and just recycle of existing materials on our land. I would highly recommend them if anyone needs any work done. MPR Excavation LLC out of Altamont. 872-1014. Ryan is the son we used and his father Patrick is also wonderful.
Phase III is next. Build a wood box, hire someone to assemble the swing set, grow grass and add some landscaping....yes I know...it never ends with me! Hopefully it will all be worth it for the girls to enjoy over the next few years.

Trains are for girls too...

Thanks to Aunt Cathy for giving us Liam's old train table and Grandma Pondillo for getting the girls some Thomas trains to play with.

The tunnel sounds are the best part.

Look what Ava did mommy
is often followed by the poor fix it now look.
Isabelle can play with the train table for awhile independently but Ava loses her attention with it much quicker and ends up disassembling the tracks on poor Belle

A new hiding spot for Miss Ava is under the table.

Lightening Can Strike The Same Place Twice

So the Summer 2009 Twins Magazine we get has an article named "Lightening Can Strike The Same Place Twice." The article is about families who have 1 set of twins (naturally or medically assisted) having another natural set of twins. Crazy, hugh? One mom had 21 month old fraternal twins and found out she was expecting fraternal twins again. Another mom had twin fraternal girls and when they turned 3 months found out she was pregnant again with identical twin girls. The article goes on with more and more examples of this. Typically I guess it happens when you have fraternal twins (like us!) This article said normally your chance of having twins is 3%. Then if you have fraternal twins your chances are 4 times more likely to have another set. Chances for identical are much lower. Of course as you age, the chances increase even higher too.

So with all that said, wouldn't that be interesting? I remember going into my 6 wk check up post delivery and my obgyn asking when I wanted more jokingly and I said bring them on.....to which he replied that I was 5 times more likely to have another set of twins. That sure quieted me down. However, the one thing I have learned from having twins is that some things are out of your control so I'll just leave that decision up to the man above. Singleton or twins, whatever the future holds, we'll be happy...insane maybe but happy!

(Added days afters I first posted this): And no, I am not pregnant to all those who thought so after reading this. First call was from Grandma Kees. Not pregnant. But yes, we will try for another child in the future and who knows what that will bring.....just thought the article was interesting ladies!

Bath Time

Bath time can be very fun and wet in our house!

Get Well Uncle Tony

The girls spent some time this morning making a get well card for Uncle Tony. We hope you are feeling better soon and glad you are home now!

Creating Chaos

Today the girls created some chaos in the basement.....

This is what my shelves looked like before we started....

within minutes..
What was I ever thinking with these shelves?

my expressive child...she's got all the faces!

making a little music....she does love her music!!

Then a trip to Okte park. The girls are going to be ready to go to elementary school at Okte for sure since they will be used it by then.

These flowers were the only way I could quietly get them back into the wagon to go home. Sorry Okte, I know it is not open picking but your future student loved them!

I can see the Verizon Bills now

The surprised face she made each time it rang.

The girls spent a good part of the afternoon amazed by this phone. They just walked around talking on it and wouldn't put it down. I can just see the Verizon bills now.
