Happy 6 Months Girls!

So I honestly can not believe the girls are 6 months today. It has gone so fast that it scares me. They are growing so quickly that Dave and I recently were saying that we can't even remember how tiny they were at birth. So much has changed in the last 6 months that it truly amazes me. They amaze me. To sum it up, it has been crazy, lovey chaos! Nothing in life with them is too predictable but for a control freak like me (yes Dave, I admit it!) that is simply ok. I mean the way we get it done is being pretty organized with them but then they throw us for a curve and somehow it just doesn't even matter. Every moment is a true blessing. The craziest day with them beats any day I could have ever imagined before I had them.

So what has changed in the last 6 months. So we are up to 6 ounces bottles now, down to probably 400 diapers a month (it was much higher when then were born, believe it or not), we are eating stage 1 fruits and veggies, we roll over now, we play with our toes, we light up a room with our smiles, we laugh out loud and we have our own little personalities. They enjoy pulling, touching, nibbling and sometimes even hitting or kicking their sister (see pic). I think they are recognizing they have a playmate now even though half the times I swear they are thinking "why are you still here?"

Miss Ava is so easy going at times. She can entertain herself for a long time without a peep. She has this overwhelming curiosity about everything that is going on around her. When she is on the ground, she is so active! She rolls, turns and makes her way to another part of the floor within minutes (or seconds). She was my active one in my belly so it does not surprise me that she is always moving her arms and legs. However, it does surprise me how low key she is! Must get that from daddy. She barely sleeps too (too nosey) like her mom! Isabelle is a little more moody. She has highs and lows (like her mom). She has this smile that can melt your heart but let her tummy get empty and the Diva comes out to show who is in control. She keeps us on her toes! On the other hand, she is a cuddler and loves her naps! Whereas Ava rather just hang out on the floor with her toys or in her swing. Thank god for the swings! The cradle swing was Isabelle's haven. We often joked that Ava could only go in there for a few minutes cause it was Isabelle's favorite seat and it would do the job of soothing her and no one wanted to mess with that. We really have not found a special toy or blanket for the girls but recently they both have been taking a liking to the tag puppies Gail bought us. The girls seem to get a real kick out of them.

So I am going to take a stab on a few predictions for the next 6 months. My guess is that Ava crawls first and Belle speaks first. My guess right now is that Ava will have brown hair and Belle will be a blondie. So only time will tell. Thank you to my girls though for being so good. I honestly have to say taking care of twins has not been bad at all. They are both really easy and we have been blessed with sleeping through the night since 3 months so who can complain with that.

Not Sharing Yet...

Okay, so we don't have the sharing concept down yet! As you can see from this video apparently you always want what you can't have. Poor Belle, so many toys but she only wants the shiny block Ava has.

A Walk In the Park

Today, we went to to SPAC to try out our carriers and take a nice walk in the beautiful weather. We weren't sure how the girls were going to like being stuck in the carrier for a long walk but they ended up loving it. Not a peep out of them and Belle even fell asleep on the walk back to the car. We couldn't have asked for a better day. Although I think Dave dropped Ava's hat 3/4th way through the walk (on purpose) so we would have to turn around...hehehe...someone was tired from his long day at Travers yesterday. I bet he wished he was being carried, not the other way around. So this weekend was a Saratoga filled time since Saturday night ,while Dave was at Travers, the girls and I went walking in downtown Saratoga after grabbing dinner with Grandma and Grandpa Kees. Then Grandpa Kees treated the girls to a ride on the Carousel in Congress Park and icecream for the adults afterwards. He's itching to have the girls try icecream next summer.

First Trip to the Track-August 17th

So the girls went to the track for the first time this weekend to spend the day with Grandma and Grandpa Pondillo, Aunt Cathy and Liam. Needless to say, moving a double stroller was quite tricky through the crowd but once we got settled we had quite a nice day. The weather was amazing and the girls were enjoying watching all the people. Luckily daddy won some money since the few races I bet did not do so well.

The Shore

So the Kees Family gathered again at the Jersey Shore this August for a few days of fun and chaos! It was great to have everyone together and have the girls be able to play with their cousins. The girls were very good at the beach even though I think we found sand in every inch of their folds for days after. Both got their feet wet in the water without any complaints. However, I think they liked sleeping in the sun the best. I attached some pictures of the bathing beauties.
