Pumpkin Patch 09

Saturday, we drove out to Syracuse to take our annual trip to the Pumpkin Patch with Katie and Colin. As expected, it was a wonderful day and well worth the drive! The girls had a great time and it was a nice break for me since I had been buried in work all week and had to go back in on Sunday (ugh!). It is amazing how much one day with the girls can make me smile.

The girls didn't blink twice before going into the dark corn maze and remarkably they took the correct turns. I was impressed!

Aunt Sara got all the kids some witch hats which was perfect for some photos ops!

Then we went to pick some pumpkins....

I love this picture...she was trying so hard to pick it up! Her face was red. What a terrible mom I was....cause I was laughing so hard :)

And of course, no shocker to us, Ava went for an even bigger one.

Miss Ava is under that brim

I couldn't resist posting this. Grandma will do anything for the kids :)

Then the girls took their first pony ride and loved it!

Then the girls fed the animals.

Aunt Sara's new hubby! She was the only one to try the haunted house.

still trying for a group shot
Check out the shots from last year, its amazing how much changes in a year

One of the cutest parts of the day was when Colin showed us his Halloween costume....Spiderman! He was adorable doing shooting the webs and all.....

Great Visit with the Majewski's

Long time family friends, the Majewski's, are in town from Florida and stopped by this afternoon to meet the girls. They were so sweet to bring the girls presents which were a hit. Mommy loved the outfit (so cute) and the girls loved the teddy bears and the bag.
Loving this face....priceless.
These teddy bears are going to be loved.

The bag, believe it or not, was also a big hit. The girls filled it up, emptied it out and carried it around the house all day. You never know what the hit will be.

Thanks Mr. and Mrs. M! The girls loved meeting you and will think of you as they care for their new bears.

Welcome Fall

What a beautiful fall day! Today, we met up with a photographer in Congress Park for some 18 month pictures of the girls. Hopefully, some will come out good. After the photo session, we stopped by Ben & Jerry's for 2 cones.

Ava was supposed to share her cone with mommy...but she wanted no part of sharing and ate every inch herself.
Of course that was under protest from Isabelle who had shared (albeit a little unwillingly) her cone with daddy. Belle was done much quicker and was not happy to see her sister still working on her cone. Tonight, we soaked up the beautiful fall air while decorating the front lawn with a little autumn charm.
Isabelle helped (wink, wink) by picking the flower heads off the mum one by one. Glad the little girl down the block stopped by and showed her how to do that (ugh!).
Then we told the girls to touch the pumpkin but guess that translated into eat the pumpkin. Maybe they thought it was a big apple (after all they do love their apples) cause Ava went to bite it and then rubbed her tummy to signal yummy!

Of course, monkey see...monkey do!

All together now....wonder if they will like pumpkin pie this fall as much?

I think the scarecrows threw them for a loop too cause you should have seen the looks they gave them.
